As part of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW70), this virtual discussion will explore how young women are shaping more equitable legal systems and influencing justice policy in practice. The conversation will highlight youth leadership, advocacy, and pathways for translating global commitments on women’s rights into tangible policy and community action.

Crystal Ikanih-Musa is an international lawyer and policy strategist with over a decade of experience advising governments, multilaterals, and global institutions on advocacy strategy, inclusive policy reform, and development initiatives.

Dr. Jayme Beasley, Public Policy Professional and Human Resources Practitioner

Dr. Jayme Beasley is a public policy professional whose research examines civic engagement, governance, and public infrastructure systems in the United States and internationally. A Fulbright Scholar, her work has included research in Morocco and Ghana.

Hannah Jackson, Youth Mobilization Advisor to the President, Black Professionals in International Affairs

Hannah Jackson works at the intersection of international policy, security, and governance, with experience across institutions including the U.S. Institute of Peace, CSIS, Chemonics International, and Capitol Hill. Her work focuses on translating policy commitments into practice in areas such as international development, human rights, security policy, and youth engagement in global governance.

Shanaiya Miller, Goodwill Ambassador, Black Professionals in International Affairs; Global Affairs Student, Yale University

Shanaiya Miller is a Global Affairs student at Yale University and a 2025 International Goodwill Ambassador for BPIA. Her work spans policy research, congressional engagement, and advocacy on global governance and human rights.

Zahra Rahimi, Founder, Zahra Insight Academy

Zahra Rahimi is an Afghan education advocate and founder of Zahra Insight Academy, which provides educational opportunities for girls in Afghanistan facing systemic restrictions. Through advocacy, storytelling, and community programs, she works to amplify the voices of Afghan women and expand access to education.

Annalise Richardson, Chair, Fairfax County Student Human Rights Commission

Annalise Richardson leads youth advocacy initiatives addressing human rights, fair housing, and equity in Fairfax County public schools. She also serves on Congressman Don Beyer’s Congressional Student Advisory Council and was recognized with the Fairfax County Student Peace Award.
