Board of DirectorsThe BPIA Board of Directors provides overall direction, fiduciary responsibility, and strategic guidance for the organization. Board members help shape the mission and priorities of BPIA, steward its financial health, and ensure accountability to members, partners, and the broader international affairs community. The Board serves as the anchor of governance, ensuring that BPIA remains a trusted, impactful, and future-ready institution. Advisory CouncilsBPIA is strengthened by three advisory councils composed of world leaders, senior executives, and global ambassadors. Each council brings specialized expertise and perspective at the highest levels of leadership:
Together, these councils extend BPIA’s reach and influence worldwide, while ensuring our work remains grounded in diverse lived experiences and visionary leadership. Committee and Working Group Chair AppointmentsBPIA’s committees carry out the daily work of the organization, ensuring that our programs, membership services, events, and communications thrive. Committee chairs and action officers lead with dedication, coordinating volunteer teams and driving initiatives that advance BPIA’s mission. Committee leadership is where members develop hands-on skills, build networks, and directly contribute to shaping the future of the association. To connect with committee leadership, visit here. Serving on BPIA Leadership (Nominations & More)Nominations for all roles—including Board positions, advisory councils, and committee leadership—open in November of each year. All terms run for one calendar year, from January through December. BPIA Board of Directors are elected by the vote of the general body members. The slate of advisory council members is voted on by the Board of Directors. The slate of Committee chairs is approved by the Board of Directors. Why These Entities MatterBPIA’s Board of Directors, advisory councils, and committees are more than organizational structures—they are the backbone of our community. These entities create checks and balances, distribute leadership, and ensure every member has a pathway to engage. Without them, BPIA could not grow sustainably, uphold transparency, or build the professional trust that is vital to our mission. Together, they safeguard our values, represent the diversity of our membership, and enable BPIA to lead with integrity in the international affairs space. |
