Black History Month Celebration
Join BPIA for an evening of connection and community as we celebrate Black History Month. Come build meaningful relationships, exchange ideas, and honor the legacy, excellence, and impact of Black professionals across industries.
The evening will honor and spotlight BPIA leaders, celebrate the launch of our new Board, and provide a meaningful space for our members to connect, engage, and grow.
Guest of Honor: BPIA Goodwill Ambassadors
Lual Mayen, CEO of Junub Games
Lual Mayen is a South Sudan–born innovator who spent over two decades in a refugee camp in Uganda before launching his journey as a Game Developer. Drawing from lived experience, he founded Junub Games, a studio dedicated to creating narrative video games that inspire dialogue on migration, peace-building, and identity. His groundbreaking work has earned him global recognition, including being named a Forbes 30 Under 30 Honoree, a Game Awards Global Gaming Citizen, and a Business Insider Top 100 Innovator. He has also collaborated with leading global brands and cultural institutions such as Chanel, where he served as a Cultural Ambassador for storytelling and creativity.
Lual’s insights have been sought at major academic and international forums, including the University of Illinois’ Migration & Game Design series, the Game Developers Conference, the United Nations, and the Geneva Peace Week.
Shanaiya Miller, UN Global Goals Ambassador
Shanaiya Miller is a rising leader in global affairs, international law, and youth diplomacy, currently pursuing her undergraduate studies at Yale University. With a dynamic background in public service, policy research, and human rights advocacy, she has held prestigious roles with the U.S. Senate, the Fairfax County Student Human Rights Commission, and the Madam Ambassador International Career Exposure Program. Her work focuses on advancing global governance, strengthening democratic institutions, and amplifying underrepresented voices in international policy-making.
A respected voice among next-generation changemakers, Shanaiya has contributed to critical discussions on peacebuilding and cross-cultural diplomacy across both domestic and international platforms.
