Jeffrey Simmons Jr. is the incoming Assistant Information Officer for U.S. Embassy Rangoon and a 2019 Rangel Fellow. He was born in Tallahassee, FL, and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. Jeffrey received his B.S. in Political Science from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University and his M.A. in Intercultural and International Communication from American University’s School of International Service. Prior to joining the State Department, Jeffrey worked with the House Committee on Homeland Security and the Congressional Black Caucus. Currently, Jeffrey is completing Public Diplomacy training at the Foreign Service Institute.
