Think + Drink: Climate Change & the Diaspora Amid the Time of Covid-19
Both at home and abroad, Black communities have been disproportionately affected by the negative effects of climate change, environmental degradation, and Covid-19's spread.
This Think & Drink will feature Professor Belinda Archibong who will discuss the implications of climate change for our community; how Covid-19 has impacted the fight against climate change; and steps we can take to promote a more sustainable future, as individuals and as international affairs professionals.
Professor Archibong's research areas include development economics, political economy, economic history and environmental economics with an African regional focus. Her research investigates the role of historical institutions and environment in inequality of access to public services and the development of human capital, with current work focused on the economics of epidemics, climate change and prisons. She is an assistant professor of economics at Barnard College, Columbia University and received a B.A. in Economics/Philosophy and a Ph.D. in Sustainable Development from Columbia University.
