Social Media Etiquette for Black Professionals:

Building Your Online Confidence & Presence

Toni Purvis, owner of Paradigm One, will provide a masterclass on social media etiquette rules for the next generation of Black leaders.

About Our Speaker:

Toni Purvis began her career on Wall Street in Equities at Goldman Sachs, after which she began her own professional development and leadership consulting business. Working with the major consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton landed her in the Washington, DC area, and, also, the opportunity to expand her career to include higher education. She worked as the Assistant Director of Career Coaching at the George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs and Associate Director of MBA Student Engagement at the GW School of Business. More recently, Toni managed career development programs for Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT), customizing leadership programming for major companies like Google, JP Morgan Chase, American Express, Twitter, American Airlines, LinkedIn, Clorox, Target, KIPP, and many others.

She is the owner of Paradigm One LLC, a consulting firm that partners with colleges, universities, non-profits, and companies to provide etiquette workshops, organizational coaching, and career development consulting. She is also the founder of The School of Disruptive Etiquette, which offers “controversial” classes and coaching to diverse rising leaders on how to disrupt the status quo, annihilate negative stereotypes, and shatter glass ceilings to unapologetically advance their career. She takes extreme pride and passion in helping young professionals navigate their work environment, polish their brand, shape their professional image, and own their narrative. Emphasizing self-awareness and social intelligence, her approach focuses on practical strategies to increase confidence through soft skills, executive presence, and authentic relationship building.

Toni graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology from Spelman College. She also obtained a Master of Arts in Christian Leadership from Fuller Theological Seminary and completed her M.B.A. at The George Washington University.
