Black Professionals in International Affairs (BPIA) is currently accepting applications for its 2026 Collegiate Council. The Council plays a critical role in supporting and strengthening BPIA Collegiate Chapters, expanding student engagement, and developing the next generation of international affairs professionals.

Serving on the Collegiate Council offers a unique opportunity to gain leadership experience, collaborate with students and professionals across the country, and contribute to initiatives that empower aspiring practitioners in international affairs.

Through this volunteer opportunity, you will join a dynamic network of student leaders committed to advancing professional development, mentorship, civic engagement, and global leadership.

We are currently recruiting for the following roles:

Collegiate Expansion Coordinator

Supports the national growth of BPIA Collegiate Chapters by recruiting student leaders, supporting chapter launches, and strengthening engagement across the collegiate network.

R.I.S.E. Youth Network Director

Provides strategic leadership, oversight, and vision for youth engagement initiatives beyond Collegiate Chapters, helping to expand opportunities for young people interested in international affairs and leadership.

Secretary

Maintains records, supports meeting coordination, documents key decisions, and helps ensure the Collegiate Council operates efficiently and effectively.

Digital Marketing Chair

Leads efforts to amplify the Collegiate Council's work through digital platforms. This role supports content creation, storytelling, audience engagement, and promotional activities across social media channels.

Treasurer

Oversees financial records, supports budgeting efforts, and assists with fundraising initiatives that strengthen the impact and sustainability of Collegiate Council programs.

Collegiate Chapter Organization Advisor

Provides guidance, mentorship, and operational support to Collegiate Chapters while helping strengthen chapter leadership, member engagement, and organizational development.

About the Session

Corruption remains one of the most significant barriers to development, public trust, economic growth, and effective governance across many countries.

Yet, some nations have demonstrated that strong institutions, accountable leadership, and strategic policy choices can create transparent and effective systems that support national development.

Our June session will explore how Botswana and Seychelles have emerged as two of Africa's strongest examples of anti-corruption governance and what lessons policymakers, development practitioners, civil society leaders, and young professionals can learn from their experiences.

Through an interactive discussion, participants will examine how anti-corruption efforts contribute to nation-building, institutional trust, economic development, and sustainable governance.

BPIA's DialogueHouse Discussion Series creates a community-centered space for members to thoughtfully engage with the global issues shaping our world.

Administrative Support Committee

Grants & Fundraising Committee
Identifies, researches, and supports funding opportunities that sustain and expand BPIA's mission and impact. Committee members contribute to grant research, donor engagement efforts, fundraising initiatives, and resource mobilization strategies.

Historian Committee
Documents and preserves BPIA's history, milestones, achievements, and institutional knowledge. Committee members help maintain organizational records, archive key moments, and ensure that BPIA's legacy continues to be captured for future generations.
